Leicester v Man Utd betting tips: Foxes bid to stem the tide
Preview and odds for Saturday’s Premier League clash
Manchester United seek to extend their unbeaten away record to 30 games when they travel to Leicester, so we have looked at the odds to find some Leicester v Man Utd betting tips.
The Foxes hope to bounce back from an indifferent run of form while United seek a win to keep pace with table-toppers Chelsea.
Saturday’s match, which takes place at the King Power Stadium, kicks off at 3pm.
Leicester v Man Utd match odds
Things have not exactly gone according to plan for Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers this season.
The Foxes have looked vulnerable at the back at times and sit 13th in the table with eight points from seven games.
Having thrown away a two-goal half-time lead at Crystal Palace last time, when held to a 2-2 draw, Leicester are winless in four Premier League games. They last had a longer winless run in the competition in their final six games under Claude Puel in February 2019.
They are 5/2 to beat Manchester United, but will have to do a better job of stemming a leaky defence. They have conceded in 12 of their last 13 Premier League games and they have allowed two goals or more in three straight games for the first time in the league since December 2017. Leicester are 7/2 to keep United scoreless.
Man Utd are looking to extend their their record unbeaten away run in the league to 30 games (W19 D10). The Red Devils haven’t conceded more than once in any of their last 15 on the road (seven conceded in total), their longest such run in league football.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, who are fourth in the table and two points behind Chelsea, are 21/20 to win. They suffered a modest run of form before the international break, being dumped out of the League Cup at home by West Ham, losing at home in the league to Aston Villa and drawing at home with Everton. They also needed a late goal to beat Villarreal in the Champions League.
Leicester v Man Utd head-to-head
Leicester won 2-1 in their last league meeting with Manchester United in May but they have not won consecutive league games against the Red Devils since September 1973 and it is 8/11 that they win or draw the game on the Double Chance market.
United have lost just one of their 15 Premier League away games against Leicester (W9 D5), going down 5-3 in September 2014. However, they did lose 3-1 at the King Power Stadium in the FA Cup last season.
The Foxes are unbeaten in their last three meetings and have not gone on a longer unbeaten streak against them since a run of four (W1 D3) between May 1997 and March 1998.
The last three meetings – and six of the last nine – saw both sides score and it is 8/13 for that to happen on Saturday in the Leicester v Man Utd betting tips.
Eight of the last 12 meetings in all competitions saw three goals or more scored in total and it is 8/11 that this will occur again.
Leicester v Man Utd key battles
Leicester striker Jamie Vardy has scored in each of his last three Premier League appearances, while United’s Jesse Lingard has been involved in six goals in his last six Premier League appearances against Leicester (three goals, three assists). Both will be of interest in the goalscorer markets.
