Preview and odds for Saturday’s best matches

It is the last round of matches in Spain this weekend and we are focusing on the most important three at the top end of the table for our La Liga betting tips.

Seven matches are all kicking off at 5pm on Saturday and the title is up for grabs so here we highlight some of the La Liga odds available for the matches involving Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad.

Real Madrid v Villarreal

Real Madrid have kept the title race alive with back-to-back wins at Granada and Athletic Bilbao ensuring they are in a position to capitalise if Atletico slip up.

Zinedine Zidane’s men have only lost one match since the start of December, although that surprise loss at home to Levante looks set to cost them the title.

Real are 4/9 to do their bit by beating Villarreal, who could climb from seventh to fifth on the final day but could be forgiven for already having one eye on the Europa League final against Manchester United.

Los Blancos have only won two of the last seven meetings with Villarreal, with four draws in that time. The visitors are 11/2 for the win or 17/10 to secure at least a point and ensure Atletico are champions regardless of their own result.

Sergio Ramos, Real Madrid

Real Valladolid v Atletico Madrid

The task for Atletico is quite simple; win and they are champions.

A draw will not be enough if Real beat Villarreal given their superior head-to-head record, with La Liga not settled on goal difference like most leagues.

There are signs of nerves in the Atletico camp and the title looked to be slipping out of their grasp on Sunday when Ante Budimir headed Osasuna in front with just 14 minutes remaining.

Substitute Renan Lodi equalised for Atletico in the 82nd minute before Luis Suarez’s 88th-minute winner left his team on the brink of clinching the title for only the second time since 1996.

In theory, this should be a routine win for Atletico, who are 4/11 favourites. Valladolid have failed to score in seven of the last eight meetings between these teams and an away win to nil is available at 5/4.

If the nerves kick in though, punters may be interested in Atletico to win from behind at 8/1 or they are 21/10 to drop points and open the door for Real Madrid.

Osasuna v Real Sociedad

The destination of the title is not the only issue at stake on the last day of season in La Liga. Two relegation places are still to be decided while the Europa League spots are to be confirmed.

The teams finishing fifth and sixth will qualify while the seventh-placed side must settle for the Europa Conference League.

Real Sociedad are in the driving seat in fifth place but Real Betis and Villarreal are just a point behind so Sociedad must win to keep their destiny in their own hands.

They are 8/13 to get the three points they need against mid-table opponents who have nothing to play for other than a top-half finish.

Osasuna held Sociedad to a 1-1 draw in January, though, and are 3/1 to claim a share of the points once more or 4/1 for a fourth successive home win.
