Aston Villa captain earns plaudits in England’s loss to Belgium

After an impressive performance in England’s Nations League defeat to Belgium, Jack Grealish is 1/3 to be included in England’s Euro 2020 squad.

The 25-year-old impressed in what was his first competitive start for England, despite falling to defeat in Leuven.

The Aston Villa captain is 4/5 to be named in the starting XI of England’s first Euro 2020 match against Croatia next summer.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “The result wasn’t what England wanted but there were positives to take out of the display in Belgium and Jack Grealish was definitely one. He’s firmly odds on now to make the Euro squad and is a lock in Southgate’s 23.”

Despite falling to the highest ranked side in the world, Belgium, the Three Lions remain firm 2/5 odds-on favourites to win Group D at the European Championships.

Croatia are 10/3 second favourites, with Czech Republic and Scotland available at 11/1 to top the group.

England also remain the 5/1 joint favourites to win next summer’s Euro 2020 Championships alongside Belgium.

“Our home comforts next summer could well be the deciding factor and despite some rocky form, we make England leading contenders for European glory,” added Aitkenhead.
