Europa League betting tips: Rangers need another Ibrox comeback

| 14.04.2022

Preview, odds and Europa League betting tips

The Europa League is at the business end of the tournament as West Ham and Rangers bid to reach the semi-finals on Thursday night.

We have already taken an in-depth look at Lyon v West Ham but we now have Europa League betting tips for the other three quarter-final ties.

Atalanta v RB Leipzig

The goal fest which most people expected did not materialise in the first leg as two of the most entertaining teams in Europe shared a 1-1 draw.

Luis Muriel put Atalanta ahead after 17 minutes but a Davide Zappacosta own goal means the scores are level heading into the return match in Italy.

Leipzig proved in the last round they have the ability go away and get the result they need, having drawn 2-2 at home to Real Sociedad before winning 3-1 on the road.

The Germans are 31/20 to win in 90 minutes but going for goals looks the better option for Europa League betting tips, especially with Leipzig having scored 28 away goals in eight matches in all competitions since the start of the year.

Over 3.5 goals on Thursday is 8/5 while the pick of Coral’s #YourCall options could be Leipzig to win draw, both teams to score in the second half and over 2.5 goals at 7/2.

Barcelona v Eintracht Frankfurt

Barcelona are in stunning form in La Liga but are not looking quite as dominant in the Europa League as might have been expected after dropping out of the Champions League.

Barca only drew at home to Galatasaray in the previous round and then went behind in Turkey before battling back for a 2-1 win.

They again have work to do in the second leg this week after being held to a 1-1 draw in Germany where Frankfurt took the lead early in the second half before Ferran Torres levelled.

Frankfurt are 19/5 to cause an upset and go through or 5/2 to score first while a Barcelona win and both teams to score is 9/5.

Xavi’s men have kept four successive clean sheets at Camp Nou, though, and are 29/20 to win to nil.

Rangers v Braga

Rangers were the only team not to score in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals and now require an Ibrox comeback following a 1-0 defeat in Portugal.

The Light Blues enjoyed some good fortune in the first half when the home side hit the post and had the ball in the net only for a VAR check to rule the goal out but eventually Spanish striker Abel Ruiz opened the scoring in the 40th minute and it proved to be the difference.

That was a third defeat in four games for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side although they boosted their confidence with a 4-0 win at St Mirren on Sunday.

Rangers overturned an away-leg loss in the last round with a 3-0 victory at home to Red Star Belgrade and can be backed for another Ibrox win in Europa League betting tips at 19/20, while the Glasgow giants are 11/8 to get through.

Braga lost two of their three away games during the group stage but found the net in all three so a Rangers win and both teams to score could be the best option at 16/5.
