Crystal Palace v Burnley Betting Tips: Can Palace push for the European spots?

The hosts won the reverse fixture 2-0 in November, as well as winning by the same scoreline in this fixture last season. A 2-0 Palace win is going for 9/1.

On the other hand, Palace are the second-lowest scoring side in the division. Each of the last three matches at Selhurst Park has only produced a single goal. Under 1.5 Goals is 7/5.

Jordan Ayew has scored in three of his last four appearances for Palace. He leads the way at 9/2 as first goalscorer or 11/5 to net anytime. Wilfried Zaha is 10/3 to score if he’s fit.

For Burnley, Chris Wood is 4/1 to open the scoring, though he may not be able to play. Matej Vydra is a 21/10 anytime scorer, with Dwight McNeil at 13/2.

After being outclassed by Liverpool last time out, Crystal Palace will be looking to get back on track at home to Burnley.

Both sides are level on 42 points, with 10th-placed Palace just above Burnley by virtue of a slightly superior goal difference.

With neither side in danger of the drop, they’ll be looking upwards towards the European spots. Tottenham Hotspur are only three points above them in seventh.

For Palace especially, the next few weeks represents a real opportunity. The South London club’s only previous taste of European football came in the 1998 Intertoto Cup. They’ve never finished higher than 10th in the top flight either. With their recent record against Burnley, they’ll be confident of picking up an important win.

The Eagles have won each of their last four meetings with tonight’s visitors, scoring eight goals and only conceding one during that sequence. Burnley’s record in SE25 makes even more encouraging reading for Palace fans – they’ve only won one of their last 13 league games at Selhurst Park.

However, Roy Hodgson could have to make do without star man Wilfried Zaha, as well as Vicente Guaita in goal. Zaha was forced off early in Palace’s 4-0 loss to Liverpool, while Guaita wasn’t fit to start. Their veteran manager will be hoping the duo are ready to feature here.

Burnley have injury issues of their own too. Ashley Barnes is out, while Chris Wood and Jay Rodriguez are doubts. That means Sean Dyche will likely call on Matej Vydra in attack. The Czech striker has only scored three league goals for the Clarets – he’ll be eager to make the most of his opportunity.

It could be a cagey game here, especially if Zaha doesn’t play for the hosts, but home advantage could make all the difference – even without a crowd.
