Brentford v Chelsea head-to-head
Brentford are winless in their last six meetings with Chelsea in all competitions (D1 L5) since a 3-1 away win in February 1939.
This is the first league meeting between the sides since a 2-0 win for the Blues in March 1947.
The Bees, who drew 3-3 with Liverpool in their last home fixture, are 13/10 to win or draw the game on the Double Chance market in the Brentford v Chelsea betting tips.
Chelsea have won their last two meetings with Brentford by a 4-0 scoreline, with both of these fixtures coming in the FA Cup (February 2013 and January 2017). They are 25/1 to win 4-0 this time.
Five of their last seven meetings saw three or more goals scored in total and the odds for that to happen this time are 21/10.
Chelsea have won four of the last five meetings to nil and it is 29/20 that the Blues do so again.
Brentford v Chelsea key battles
Brentford have won seven of their nine top-flight matches against sides starting the day top of the table (L2), so avoiding defeat will be Tuchel’s priority.
The Blues have often looked vulnerable from set-pieces and Brentford caused a big West Ham side plenty of problems when the ball was put into their box from dead-ball situations.
They will have to keep an eye on Wissa, who has scored five goals in his last five appearances in all competitions for Brentford and he is 7/2 to score at any time, with Ivan Toney the leader in the Brentford anytime scorer market at 12/5.
