Coral’s rumour reel

Seamus Coleman to Man Utd rumours have resurfaced in the Sunday papers, following his international exploits.

Three years after David Moyes reportedly attempted to sign Coleman, it appears another Old Trafford boss is after the Everton right back.

Jose Mourinho doesn’t favour Louis van Gaal signing Matteo Darmian, instead preferring Antonio Valencia on that flank of defence. Read more about this tasty and other tasty gossip in Coral’s latest edition of the rumour reel…

Coleman to Man Utd?

According to reports, Red Devils manager Mourinho has asked Manchester United chief Ed Woodward to sign Coleman in January.

The Special One sees the Toffees full back as an ideal addition, with Darmian failing to impress Mourinho.

Italy’s 2014 World Cup right back Darmian is linked to leaving Old Trafford, with Inter Milan and Juventus potential destinations if Coleman is captured.

Everton’s takeover and injection of foreign investment earlier this years means they won’t sell easily, however. A £16m deal may still be thrashed out if United pursue Coleman, though.

Ronald Koeman seems a big fan of the dynamic right back and, after selling John Stones in the summer, will be in no rush to lose another defender.

Black Cats pounce for Dragovic?

Sunderland are reportedly renewing their interest in Austria defensive duo Aleksandar Dragovic and Martin Hinteregger.

The Black Cats sent scouts to Austria’s World Cup qualifying draw with Wales, and also tracked the pairs while Sam Allardyce was in charge.

Moyes has history with both these players; while at United he reportedly attempted to sign Hinteregger when with Red Bull Salzburg.

Meanwhile, during Moyes’ time at Everton, he held interest in Dragovic, now at Bayer Leverkusen.

Sunderland currently sit bottom of the Premier League with one of the worst defensive records. Moyes’ men have also failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their opening seven games, so winter reinforcements appear essential.

Catalan giants consider Christensen?

Andreas Christensen is a name few would recognise in the Premier League, but the 20 year-old defender on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach is attracting La Liga interest.

With just one domestic game for Chelsea under his belt, Denmark international Christensen is excelling in the Bundesliga with Gladbach.

Silky on the ball and tactically astute, the Dane possesses everything Barcelona look for in a defender.

Nou Camp chiefs are reportedly seeking a long-term replacement for Gerard Pique, and ball-playing centre back Christensen may fit the bill.
