EFL Preview for Tuesday

We’re into the final week of the regular season in the Football League but some teams still have two matches to play.

There are four fixtures in the EFL on Tuesday night and three of them involve teams still fighting for promotion or survival.

Here we preview those three matches with our Football League betting tips and highlight the latest odds.

Luton v Rotherham

The big match of the night is in the Championship where Rotherham can keep their destiny in their own hands by beating Luton.

The Millers will climb out of the relegation zone if they pick up all three points at Kenilworth Road, which they are 11/8 to do.

Luton are 10 places and 21 points above Rotherham but are the 2/1 underdogs, highlighting the fact they effectively have nothing to play for.

A win for Rotherham would lift them above Derby heading into the final weekend but Lewis Wing’s late equaliser against Blackburn on Saturday secured only their first point in six matches and just their second goal in that time.

Luton won 1-0 when the teams met in South Yorkshire in November and another Luton win to nil is priced at 9/2.

Blackpool v Doncaster

Blackpool need one point from their last two matches to secure a League One play-off place and will be keen to do so at the first attempt.

Only champions Hull have been in better form over the last 12 matches than the Tangerines, who have picked up 24 points in that time to surge up the table.

Back-to-back away wins against Sunderland (1-0) and Northampton (3-0) mean a third successive victory, which can be backed at 8/13, would lift Neil Critchley’s men up to third ahead of the final-day visit of relegated Bristol Rovers.

Doncaster have been in poor form since Darren Moore left to take over at Sheffield Wednesday and are out of play-off contention but they were 2-1 winners at Rochdale on Saturday and are 9/2 to complete the double over Blackpool this season.

Charlton v Lincoln

It is eighth versus fourth at The Valley and Charlton are hoping to squeeze into the League One play-offs where they could face Lincoln yet again.

The Imps have already secured a top-six place and a win at 23/10 would lift them above Sunderland and into third.

All the pressure is on Charlton, who start the night four points behind sixth-placed Portsmouth with an inferior goal difference so a win looks vital if they are to keep their promotion hopes alive heading into the final game against Hull.

The Addicks have only lost one match since the start of March and are 6/5 for the victory, although they have failed to win any of their last three home games.
