Flying Feyenoord to edge past Eredivisie rivals PSV Eindhoven

It is of course too early to make a definitive statement on how summer transfer raids on the Eredivisie have impacted the Dutch top flight title race, but Feyenoord seem to be bearing their losses better than upcoming opponents PSV Eindhoven.
In one of the most eagerly anticipated clashes in the Dutch football calendar, then, the tables could turn this term in the De Kuip club’s favour, with Feyenoord 3/1 for a famous away win with Coral.
Tussles between these two bitter rivals are always close, with the Rotterdam visitors holding a six to four edge over the last 10 scuffles, so odds of 27/10 for a draw could prove profitable, for these fairly evenly-matched outfits.
There also tends to be goals galore when these Eredivisie giants encounter one another, with 43 goals clocked up in the previous 10 games between them, so backing both sides to score in both halves is an appealing 10/1 chance.
PSV have drawn two of their three league outings so far, which is understandable, as the current champions adjust to life without influential attackers Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum, who contributed a combined 36 league goals last campaign before being plucked away by Premier League clubs.
Centre forward Luuk de Jong has, however, continued to net with abandon, with two strikes to his name already this term, making the former Newcastle United man PSV’s best shot of being on target. So, while PSV still pose a significant threat on home turf, they have not been able to finish off games as they seek to retain the title, leaving the door ajar for Feyenoord to continue their storming start.
With three wins from as many games racked up already, the guests have barely blinked since losing schemer Jordy Clasie, and Rotterdam-born Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be keen to keep his boyhood club level with giants Ajax at the top of the table.
Coach Van Bronckhorst can call on former international teammate Dirk Kuyt to bring goals on the road, as the De Kuip fan favourite and captain has returned to his former club in style.
The ex-Liverpool workhorse was a prolific scorer in the Netherlands, and is 15/2 to break the deadlock or 12/5 to net anytime after slotting home three spot-kicks upon his heroic homecoming.
Also forward threats for a resurgent Feyenoord side, are further familiar faces in previous Premier League players Colin Kazim-Richards (13/5 to notch anytime) and Eljero Elia (3/1), while young winger Elvis Manu is reportedly coveted by several sides in England’s top-tier.
