Is Liverpool assistant set to replace Wenger?

Following a slew of bets on Liverpool’s assistant manager Zeljko Buvac taking the Arsenal job, Coral have slashed odds on the Anfield number two taking over at the Emirates.

Buvac is now just 4/1 to be Arsene Wenger’s successor. The 56-year-old was as long as 16/1 earlier today, and not even in the betting yesterday.

That places Jurgen Klopp’s right-hand man second in the betting, narrowly behind 11/4 favourite Massimiliano Allegri.

Elsewhere in the betting, former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is 5/1, with Carlo Ancelotti at 8s and long-time Germany gaffer Joachim Low at 12/1.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “It seemed a fanciful idea at first but we’re witnessing a major gamble now and the odds are dropping by the minute on Buvac being the man to replace Arsene Wenger at the end of the season.”

**To be the next Arsenal manager

11/4 Massimiliano Allegri, 4/1 Zeljko Buvac, 5/1 Luis Enrique, 8/1 Brendan Rogers, 8/1 Carlo Ancelotti, 12/1 Joachim Low, 16-1 Bar
