Five players who need big World Cups to get their move

A quintet from across Europe

The World Cup is the greatest sporting show in the world and therefore, the biggest shop window out there.

It only takes place every four years and transforms relative nobodies into household names. It also puts big names back in the limelight if they perform to the best of their abilities, too.

And this summer in Russia will be no different. The Coral News Team take a look at five global aces who’ll need some star turns to get the move they desire.

Eden Hazard

The Belgium international had a pretty lean season at Stamford Bridge this season. And, by all accounts, wants out at Chelsea.

Considering Hazard is now 27-years-old and this is likely his last chance at a big move – you can understand why.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked over the last couple of years. But Hazard is probably going to have to pull out all the stops to convince Los Blancos to make a move.

Emil Forsberg

The RB Leipzig ace has had a tremendous couple of seasons in the Bundesliga. The Denmark international will likely get a move anyway.

But a handful of star performances for the Danish team and a couple of the big guns could come calling. Arsenal have been linked with a move in recent weeks that could cost up to £45m.

However, if it goes poorly for the Danes, it could cost the playmaker his big deal.

Robert Lewandowski

It’s not exactly news that the Polish superstar is looking to force an exit from Bayern Munich this summer.

After a number of seasons conquering the Bundesliga, Lewandowski is looking for pastures new and a big transfer.

Again, Real have been linked with a move. But the Poland striker’s astronomical transfer fee could put off the majority of suitors. A glut of goals for Adam Nawalka’s side should see clubs push the boat out.

William Carvalho

Long-touted for a Premier League move, William Carvalho might just be about to get his wish.

The Sporting CP midfielder enforcer recently got released from his club contract after some pretty spicy incidents at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

A big World Cup for European champions Portugal and it won’t just be West Ham United ringing his agent.

Alisson

The Roma goalkeeper is on the radar of a host of top clubs after a couple of superb seasons at the Stadio Olimpico.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the Brazil international. But the Giallorossi are willing to resist any major bids until after the World Cup.

And that could be a clever move, because if the Selecao go all the way with Alisson between the posts, his value could sky-rocket.
