Odds and preview for this weekend’s biggest games
We could be in for a football rollercoaster on Sunday, with the Premier League relegation battle set to go to the final whistle.
There are also European spots up for grabs on the final day of the season, while Juventus have another chance to seal the Serie A title.
Ahead of the action, we’ve picked out five games that could throw up plenty of drama…
Everton v Bournemouth (Sun, 16:00)
There are any number of possible outcomes to the relegation battle, with Aston Villa, Watford and Bournemouth only separated by three points. But Bournemouth’s task is actually very simple – they need to win or they’re going down.
Unfortunately for the Cherries, they haven’t taken a point from their previous four visits to Goodison Park. Everton are 5/4 to continue that record and end their season with a win. Eddie Howe’s side are 2/1 to get a crucial victory.
If Bournemouth do take the points, who’ll be the hero? Callum Wilson got a brace against the Toffees back in September. He’s 11/2 to open the scoring again or 15/8 anytime. Dominic Solanke is also 23/10 to score.
West Ham United v Aston Villa (Sun, 16:00)
West Ham have hauled themselves to safety over recent weeks. Will Villa join them on the final day? A win should be enough for Villa at 5/4, as long as Watford don’t beat Arsenal by a margin of two more goals. The draw is at 13/5, while 2/1 says the Hammers sign off with a win.
The hosts have tightened up at the back under David Moyes, and with so much at stake, Villa are likely to be nervy. Villa to win and Under 2.5 Goals is going for 5/1.
Trezeguet got the winner against Arsenal and he’s 14/5 to make it four goals in four, while Jack Grealish is 11/5 to score in what could be his last appearance for his boyhood club. After scoring six goals in his last three outings, Michail Antonio is 3/2 to keep it going with another strike here.
Arsenal v Watford (Sun, 16:00)
Watford will hope Arsenal have an eye on next week’s FA Cup final here. The Hornets need to better Villa’s result to stay up, given they’re level on points but their goal difference is one inferior to the Villans.
Our traders aren’t so sure though – the Gunners are 10/11 to end a disappointing league campaign on a high. We go 11/4 for an away win and 27/10 for honours to be even.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang still has slim hopes of winning the Golden Boot for the second year running. He’s 7/2 to get two or more goals, while Watford captain Troy Deeney is 13/8 to net anytime.
Leicester City v Manchester United (Sun, 16:00)
At the other end of the table, Leicester and Man Utd both know the deal – win and they’ll be in the draw for next season’s Champions League.
Despite looking tired recently, United are 5/4 favourites. Leicester are 11/5 to end a run of 10 league games against United without winning. A draw (12/5) would also be enough for the visitors. It could be enough for Leicester too, if Wolves do them a favour and beat fourth-placed Chelsea.
Jamie Vardy is 10/3 as First Goalscorer. He leads the Golden Boot race with 23 goals and he’s 5/4 to add to his tally anytime. Antony Martial is United’s likeliest scorer at 5/1 First or 21/10 Anytime.
Juventus v Sampdoria (Sun, 20:45)
To round off the weekend, we head to Serie A. Juventus have stumbled in recent weeks and blew a chance to seal a ninth straight title when they lost to Udinese in midweek.
However, Maurizio Sarri’s side still have a six-point cushion with just three games to play. Victory over Sampdoria would be enough for them to clinch top spot. They’re 2/7 to come out on top, with the visitors back at 11/1.
Cristiano Ronaldo is also bidding to become the first player to win the Golden Boot in Serie A, the Premier League and La Liga. He’s got 30 goals so far, one behind Lazio’s Ciro Immobile. We go 2/5 that he nets anytime or 15/8 that he bags two or more.
