Bolton-born challenger Khan makes a daunting step up in weight to challenge the sport’s biggest superstar Canelo in the early hours of Sunday morning, with the fight being broadcasted live on BoxNation.
‘King’ Khan has previously reigned as a two-time world champion at light-welterweight but must make his speed count against a big, powerful champion in Alvarez, who is currently the biggest name in boxing since Floyd Mayweather Jr’s supposed retirement.
It’s the reigning middleweight champion that will enter this 155-pounds catchweight bout as the overwhelming favourite at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with the Golden Boy fighter 14/1 with Coral to end proceedings early with a first-round knockout.
In what is being dubbed a match-up between Canelo’s power and Khan’s speed, the latter is 18/1 to stop his solid South American opponent in rounds 7-9, though is likely gameplan will be to take Alvarez the distance and odds of 11/4 can be had on a points decision victory.
The Sin City clash will have the world watching, as Khan looks to dethrone a dominant middleweight title holder, while Canelo aims to maintain his place as boxing’s most talented fighter, in what is sure to be an enthralling meeting!
