Bradford v Crewe
Phil Parkinson’s Bantams did the double over Alex last season, and are in pole position to defeat them again with beleaguered Crewe propping up the table. Bradford are thus firm odds-on 1/2 favourites for victory here.
Bantams target man James Hanson has netted in his last two games at Valley Parade, and he is a 7/2 chance to net the opener. Leading Bradford marksman Devante Cole, meanwhile, is odds-on at 10/11 in the anytime market.
Chesterfield v Oldham
The Spireites are on a seven-match unbeaten run against the Latics, so Dean Saunders’ side are odds-on at 10/11 to defeat them again. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake adds a touch of class to the Chesterfield attack, and he’s an even-money anytime scorer chance in this Oldham encounter.
Sheffield United v Southend
Steel City outfit the Blades have won 10 of the 17 meetings with the Shrimpers across all competitions. Adkins reportedly has the biggest budget of any League One boss, and that financial muscle, plus the fact Sheffield United have a 13-goal partnership in attack, explains their status as odds-on 10/11 match favourites.
Che Adams and Billy Sharp have contributed half of the Blades’ 26 league goals, so are evens and 5/4 in the anytime market respectively to help Sheffield United sink Southend.
