Derby v Millwall Betting Tips: Rams to edge key Championship clash?

Odds and preview for Pride Park showdown
There’s plenty on the line as Millwall head to Derby County in tonight’s Championship tussle – live on Sky Sports from 7:45pm tonight.
Victory for the Rams would move them back into the play-off places, while three points for Millwall would see them reach a seven-point gap above the drop zone.
Ahead of the action at Pride Park, we’ve got all the odds and info…
Head-to-Head
This fixture’s been about as even as they come. The pair’s last 10 meetings have produced three wins apiece.
However, 2015’s stalemate may have been the most exciting of the bunch for neutrals. The Rams came from 3-1 down to snatch a late point at the Den.
It was Millwall who came out on top in the most recent meeting, who clung on for a 2-1 win in August. That game also saw David Nugent net a sixth career goal against the Lions.
Likely XIs
With Jack Marriott fit again, home boss Frank Lampard could return to a 4-3-3 system. If that’s the case, chances are the 24-year-old will be on the left of that front three, with Martyn Waghorn central and Duane Holmes on the right.
Left-back Scott Malone knows all about Millwall, having spent three seasons with the Bermondsey club from 2012-15. He could be a threat coming forward.
However, the visitors may have more worries about the pace of teenage prodigy Jayden Bogle on the opposite flank.
After a poor start to the season, Millwall have been tougher to break down of late. They’re usually a 4-4-2 side, with the emphasis on aerial threats and defensive resilience.
Lee Gregory remains their clearest goal threat, and is usually paired with the workmanlike Aiden O’Brien. Out wide, midfielder Jed Wallace is a jack-of-all-trades who can deliver excellent crosses and crunching tackles in equal measure.
Key Battles
The visitors will have to keep their eye on Harry Wilson. Pacy, inventive and possessing a famed knack for long-range goals, he could cause one of the league’s less mobile sides a raft of problems – especially tucked in behind that front three.
Millwall are lethal from dead-ball situations, as they proved in that heroic 3-2 FA Cup win against Everton. As well as O’Brien and Gregory, towering defenders Murray Wallace and Jake Cooper both chip in with their fair share of goals.
This is very much a clash-of-styles game, with the result probably resting on which side can dictate the general flow of the clash. Will it be the slick, quick passing game favoured by Lampard or a blood-and-thunder battle which suits Neil Harris’ men?
Match Odds
With Millwall winning just one of their 15 away games in the league this term, the odds have Derby as firm favourites.
It’s Evens for a home win, with the Draw next-best at 23/10 and a Lions triumph out at 27/10.
The returning Marriott loves a late goal. He’s closed out the scoring five times this term, and we go 4/1 he’s Last Goalscorer again. As for Nugent, he could feature from the bench. With his fine record against the Lions, it’s 8/5 he bags Anytime.
As longshots go, Millwall defender Wallace could be a popular pick. Having notched in two of his last five outings, the big Scot is 10/1 to register against the Rams.
Meanwhile, we make it 15/2 for Derby to bag a seventh 2-1 win of the campaign.
