5.00 – Fearnot
He is a progressive three-year-old who won convincingly over this C&D on his last start. Since he returned to training at the start of the season, he has been showing lots of good work at home, so we were delighted to see him put his best foot forward last time. The handicapper has put him up 10lb for that victory, so we will find out how good he is from this latest mark.
I think he has the perfect profile for the Britannia Stakes. He will relish the fast ground and hopefully, the high draw works out well for him. This is obviously a tough race to win, but I am excited to be on board my horse and I am sure he has a lively chance.
6.10 – Cerulean Bay
My second ride on day three is on board Cerulean Bay for David O’Meara. He won off this mark off 96 last August. His form dipped a little after that success, but he did produce a much better run at Chester last time, finishing fifth of 13 runners.
This looks to be an open-looking contest, and although we are a big price in the betting, if he produces his best, he is capable of finishing in the frame.

Ascot Gold Cup thoughts
Aidan O’Brien has an excellent record in the Ascot Gold Cup, and although there is no Kyprios this year, he once again has the horse to beat in Illinois. He has showcased his stamina on his last two starts in the Prix Chaudenay and Ormonde Stakes, respectively.
I rode in the latter and I thought it was an excellent performance from him. Ryan Moore knows how to win this race, and I am sure he will have him in a good position to attack the winning line in the final couple of furlongs.
