3.13 – Glittering Surf

I have just one ride on Friday at York, but it is an exciting one on board Glitter Surf in a Listed race. She is unbeaten after two victories on the all-weather at Kempton. I rode her to success on her last start, and we didn’t go overly quick in that race, but she finished very strongly, which impressed me.

Coral New Offer

I think this is a very smart filly for the future. We were meant to go to France this week, but connections opted against that due to the ground. Hopefully, it won’t be too quick for her at York.

Owen Burrows’ horses are in good form, and I am sure he will have this filly primed and ready to put in a great account of herself.

Yorkshire Cup

Sweet William was one of the leading horses in the stayers’ division last season, and if he turns up at his best, he will be hard to beat in the Yorkshire Cup. You also must give a lot of respect to Rebel’s Romance, as he has won some big races around the globe. He has earned over £10 million in prize money, which is incredible.

Leading jocket David Probert shares his thoughts on his rides at day one of the Chester May Festival on Wednesday, May 7 with Coral readers.

I’d like to see Alsakib run a good race for Andrew Balding. I won on this horse in a valuable handicap contest at Ascot a couple of seasons ago. He is up against it on the ratings here, but he is a C&D winner.
