David Probert blog: 'He has a big live chance'

David Probert shares his thoughts on his one ride at Ascot tomorrow in his latest exclusive blog with Coral, but also gives his thoughts on the King George too.

I won the Spring Cup at Newbury on board this horse at the start of the season. He then ran well at the same course, finishing second from a 5lb higher mark. On his latest run at Ascot, I don’t think he quite saw out the 1m trip, so this drop down to 7f should help, especially if it is a strongly run race.

I think he has a big live chance in what is a competitive handicap contest. 

Auguste Rodin brings the strongest form to the table as a Breeders’ Cup winner and then a Royal Ascot success in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes last month.

I do like Sunway, who is the only three-year-old in the field. He ran well last time in what was an eye-catching performance, as he was staying on well. I think the trip will suit him here. 

They all have Auguste Rodin to beat, but I do like Sunway’s chances here with the weights in his favour.
