Daily French Open tips: Nadal, Williams and Del Potro amongst picks
Published:Odds from the action at Roland Garros
The second round of the French Open continues today, with several of the big stars on show.
There should be some great tennis to enjoy and the Coral News Team are helping you to hit an ace with five top tips…
Rafael Nadal to win in straight sets – 1/4
It’s no surprise that Rafael Nadal is 2/5 favourite to rule Roland Garros once again. He’s only ever lost two matches at the French Open. And he’s 1/50 to beat the unseeded Argentine Guido Pella.
There’s little value in backing the holder to win outright. But you can get Nadal to win 3-0 in the Set Betting market at 1/4. He didn’t drop a single set on his way to winning last year’s tournament.
Serena Williams to win the 1st set and the match – 6/4
Serena Williams didn’t miss a step on her return to the Grand Slam stage against Kristyna Pliskova.
Ashleigh Barty will pose a sterner test, but Williams’ experience and quality should see her through.
Juan Martin del Potro to beat Julien Benneteau with -7/5 Games Handicap – Evens
A Del Potro win looks on the cards here against Julien Benneteau. The big hitter is ranked number six in the world, well ahead of Benneteau (62).
The Argentine has won both of his previous matches against his second-round opponent without dropping a set.
Under 18.5 Games in Simona Halep v Taylor Townsend – 4/6
Top seed Simona Halep lost in last year’s final in Paris. She’ll be determined to go one better this time around.
She should make light work of Taylor Townsend. The unseeded American has yet to fulfil the promise she showed as a junior player.
Pablo Cuevas v Kevin Anderson to go the distance – Over 4.5 Sets at 2/1
Kevin Anderson is currently ranked six in the world, 68 places above Pablo Cuenvas. But Anderson’s powerful serve has less impact here and Cuevas is a clay specialist.
The South African should come out on top, but he’ll have to wear his opponent down.
