Daily Acca Tips: Romania, Kazakhstan and Turkey all feature
Published:Focus on International Football
There’s another batch of international friendlies to get stuck into this evening as World Cup fever moves up a notch.
Only one of our selections will actually be at the next week’s tournament, but that hasn’t stopped us putting together a three-fold from tonight’s action.
Here’s what the Coral News Team fancy this evening…
Romania to beat Finland – 4/6
Neither of these sides will be at the World Cup in Russia. So it’s all about building momentum towards their respective Euro 2020 qualifying campaigns.
Both nations are in good form ahead of the clash, but it’s Romania who are taken to edge proceedings. Tricolorii wrapped up their third win in as many matches with an impressive 3-2 success over Chile last week. They can get the better of a Finland team who often struggle against the more established names on the international stage.
Kazakhstan to beat Azerbaijan – 6/5
Home comforts could be crucial when Kazakhstan take on Azerbaijan this evening. Stanimir Stoilov’s men are a tough proposition on home turf. Poland, Romania and Armenia have all returned unsuccessful from the Astana Arena in the last two years.
Kazakhstan’s recent success away at Hungary further highlights the strides that are being made when it comes to Kazakh football. Opponents Azerbaijan can only boast wins against Kyrgyzstan, San Marino and Qatar in the last 18 months.
Turkey to beat Russia – 14/5
Russia’s preparations for a World Cup on home soil have been far from ideal. The hosts have lost their last three matches as part of a six-game winless run. They’re in woeful form and may find things tough against a Turkey side currently enjoying something of a purple patch.
Mircea Lucescu’s men are unbeaten in four matches and can inflict another defeat on Russia in Moscow.
