The weather might be freezing cold but there’s still plenty of football to enjoy across the continent today.
Arsenal face Manchester City for the second time in less than a week. Gunners fans will be hoping for a much better showing than in their limp Carabao Cup final defeat. There’s also action in La Liga, as well as the cups in France and Turkey.
The Coral News Team have cast their eye over the fixture list and come up with some tasty tips…
Manchester City – 8/11
Arsenal will surely produce a better performance than they did at Wembley on Sunday. But it’s still hard to see Arsene Wenger’s side getting anything against the league leaders.
The North London club have lost three of their last four games in all competitions. City are the last side they’ll want to face right now.
Barcelona – 2/11
Barcelona are on a club record 32-game unbeaten run in the league. It’s unlikely a struggling Las Palmas side will end it at the Estadio Gran Canaria.
Ernesto Valverde may give a rest to the likes of Luis Suarez ahead of a busy week coming up. His squad should still have more than enough firepower to get three points.
Alaves – 4/5
Alaves had put together a run of three consecutive wins before being hammered 4-0 by Real Madrid last time out. Now they can get back on track against Levante. A win would move them 12 points clear of the relegation zone if Las Palmas lose.
Levante are only a point above the bottom three and have won just one of their last 17 games in all competitions.
Lyon – 17/20
Lyon could see the path to the Coupe de France open up for them if they beat Caen in tonight’s quarter-final. Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille are the two big threats, but they’ve been drawn against each other.
Caen have only won one in six at home. They’ve lost four of their last five meetings with Lyon too.
Besiktas – 19/20
Expect a fiery atmosphere at the Vodafone Park as Besiktas host Fenerbahce in the first leg of the Turkish Cup semi-final.
This will be the second Istanbul derby between the two clubs in a week. Besiktas ran out 3-1 winners last Sunday. They should continue their momentum in this one.
