Cue Card holds on to King George favourtism
Published:
Cue Card is 11-10 favourite with Coral for the King George VI Chase, ahead of his stablemate Thistlecrack at 11-8, as seven contenders remained in the Boxing day showpiece. The supplemented Josses Hill is 14-1, with Tea For Two next at 16-1.
Coral are also betting on which of the Colin Tizzard-trained duo will start favourite, and can’t split the pair at 5-6 each of two, while Cue Card is 6-1 to win at Kempton and the Cheltenham Gold Cup to land the £1 million bonus.
“This year’s King George is shaping up to be a match between the reigning champion and his younger stablemate, and although Cue Card is holding on to favouritism for now, it’s entirely possible the support will come for Thistlecrack and force a change at the head of the market,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
