Champion jockey previews his Glorious Goodwood rides

Wednesday – Goodwood

2.25 – Corgi

Corgi is one of my best rides of the week and I can’t wait to ride him. He’s a gorgeous looking horse by a very good sire in So You Think, stays very well and is nicely drawn. He has certainly got a lot going for him and a great chance.

The horses on the outside of us will have to work that little bit harder to get a prominent position and if I can jump well I won’t have to use too much petrol early on and can just hold my position.

Things haven’t gone quite right for him this season, but he ran really well at Newbury to be beaten by Young Rascal and finished second by a head at Royal Ascot. He’s got a great opportunity to go one better here.

3.35 – Beat the Bank

Beat the Bank is a great ride to pick up and I think he can run a very big race. I thought I was a bit unlucky on him in the Queen Anne when we got a bit short of room and hopefully things will be smoother this time.

Expert Eye and Without Parole were both Royal Ascot winners and on form they should be hard to beat but we are certainly capable of doing so.

4.10 – Munaajaat

Brian Meehan is having a great year and his two years olds are running really well.

Hopefully Munaajaat can continue that and she ran a really encouraging race at Sandown on her debut. The form of her debut has been franked and we’re confident that she will run a very nice race here.

7.30 – Kitabaat

This is a horse I like a lot and his second last time out at Ascot looks a good run. He definitely has a good chance here and hopefully can run well.

8.05 – So Hoity Toity

We won’t want the ground too firm for this horse.

However it doesn’t look the strongest of races and I have a good record for Ed De Giles so hopefully it is a good opportunity for her provided the ground is right.

She is a four year old and the main danger is that there might be a progressive three year old in the field but we are still very hopeful of a good run.

 8.35 – Moon of Baroda

This will be the first time I’ve ridden this horse and it looks a competitive race.

He’s got the blinkers on and has been gelded so I hope that can do the trick and help to end my day on a high.
