Bangladesh v England 1st ODI tips

England readied themselves for their three-match One Day International series with Bangladesh with a high-scoring win over BCB Select XI in a warm-up match on Tuesday, and will hope to break a run of three-straight losses to them.

With Joe Root rested for the One Day games, and opener Alex Hales not touring Bangladesh alongside regular short-form captain Eoin Morgan due to safety concerns, the visitors will give chances to fringe players and new faces.

Ahead of the fixture in Dhaka, Coral pick out our five Bangladesh v England 1st ODI tips…

Duckett to be top England batsman

Ben Duckett has been the subject of much talk ahead of the series in Bangladesh, mainly about whether or not he will open for the Tests, but he was picked at number three in the warm-up and made an early impression.

His 29 helped England to a score of 313 to win by four wickets, after a record-breaking season with Northamptonshire where he picked up both Players’ Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.

Duckett odds of 4/1 to be best batman for the tourists in Dhaka is a tasty price on what looks like being a memorable full international debut.

England to hit over 4.5 sixes

Any team that possess an explosive batting line-up featuring the likes of Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes and of course Jos Buttler are almost guaranteed to hit numerous sixes.

England smashed a total of nine in their warm-up match, with four coming from stand-in skipper Buttler on his way to scoring 80 off just 64 balls, so odds of 29/20 say they can manage over 4.5.

Al Hasan to be top Bangladesh bowler

Being one of the best all-rounders in all forms of cricket, it is no surprise that Shakib Al Hasan bets top the Bangladesh bowling market at 3/1.

The 29-year-old slow left-arm spinner took two wickets against England back in 2011, and is certainly their best chance of claiming a couple more.

Chris Woakes get over 1.5 wickets

Another all-rounder features among our tips, and this time England’s Woakes, who impressed most in the warm-up clash on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old Warwickshire player claimed figures of 3-52 and has become a real gem for Trevor Bayliss’ men in all forms of the game of late, so odds of 8/5 for him to take over 1.5 wickets look very tasty.

England to be King of the Crease

England have won 13 of their 16 total ODI meetings with Bangladesh since their first in 2003, including all four times in Dhaka, which is why they are heavily odds-on at 4/9.

But you can get a much more tasty price of 6/4 for them to be King of the Crease (team to win match, get highest opening partnership and highest score after the first 15 overs. If highest opening partnership or highest first 15 over market is tied, bet is a loser).
