Big Bash League play-offs get underway on Friday

With only five teams left in contention to win this year’s Big Bash League, Perth Scorchers enter the play-offs as the 6/5 favourites to win the tournament.

The Scorchers take on last year’s winners, Sydney Sixers, in their first play-off game, with the defending champions 7/4 second favourites to retain their title.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “It’s going to be all action in the UK mornings, as the Big Bash Finals kick off on Friday, with the Perth Scorchers and their English stars Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone the red-hot favourites to go all the way and win the tournament.”

The Big Bash League knockout stages get underway on Friday, with Brisbane Heat taking on Adelaide Strikers in the opening match. Brisbane are 12/1 to win this year’s title, with Adelaide 14/1.

Whoever wins the opening match will then move on to face Sydney Thunder in the next round and will have to win three more consecutive matches if they’re to lift the trophy.

Sydney Thunder are 11/2 to become this year’s Big Bash League champions.

“Alex Hales is leading the run charts and his Sydney Thunder side are 11/2, the third favourites behind their city rivals the Sixers, whilst the Heat and the Strikers need to win four on the spin now and the betting suggests it’ll be a mountain to climb,” added Aitkenhead.
