England odds-on to win second Test against Sri Lanka
Joe Root’s England won the first Test by seven wickets
After sealing the first Test on the opening session of the final day, England are odds-on 10/11 favourites to win the second Test against Sri Lanka.
England claimed a seven-wicket win to lead the series 1-0 after captain Joe Root impressed with the bat, scoring 228 first innings runs, while Dom Bess and Jack Leach impressed with the ball.
Lahiru Thirimanne’s second innings total of 111 made the score line more respectable for the hosts, but after England managed a convincing win, Sri Lanka are 13/8 to win the second Test, with the draw available at 9/2.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “We make England the odds-on favourites now for the second Test, following the manner of their victory in the opening match of the series. Joe Root’s side look a class above the hosts and can seal the series.”
