England odds-on to win opener against Pakistan
The Test series gets underway tomorrow
England are odds-on favourites to win the opening match of their Test series against Pakistan.
The three-match series begins at Old Trafford tomorrow and Joe Root’s side are priced at 2/5 to win the opener, while they’re the overwhelming favourites at 1/5 to win the entire series.
Meanwhile, Pakistan are 9/2 to win the first match and they’re going at 8/1 to win overall.
“England finished their series against the West Indies in fine form and the quick turnaround should suit them,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.
“We make them odds-on to win the first Test and they are huge favourites to clinch the series.”
After securing his 500th Test wicket against the West Indies, Stuart Broad is the 11/4 joint-favourite alongside James Anderson to take the most wickets for England across the series, while Root is 5/2 to score the most runs.
“Broad’s on fire and it’s impossible to see England leaving him out again,” added Aitkenhead.
“He’s the 11/4 joint-favourite to take the most wickets in the series and plenty of punters are backing him.”
