Could Dani Alves lead the way for Rossoneri revival?

Brazilian full back Dani Alves has been heavily tipped for a switch away from the Nou Camp this summer, with his current Barcelona contract set to expire, and the three-time Champions League victor has welcomed a move to Italian strugglers AC Milan.
The 32-year-old recently helped the Catalan club to another European Cup crown, the third of his career with the Spanish giants, and has been long linked with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United a rumoured destination.
However, the sought-after wideman has surprisingly welcomed a possible move to Serie A side AC Milan, who are currently undergoing a state of transition after their owner Silvio Berlusconi finally agreed to sell a huge stake of the San Siro outfit, with Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol purchasing 48 per cent of the club.
With a new owner arriving, and plenty of funds seemingly available, Milan could see a summer full of encouraging transfer business, but a free switch for Alves would be a huge boost to the under-fire squad, as the attack-minded defender looks set to turn down a move to England’s top tier division (6/4 with Coral to join the Red Devils).
“President Silvio Berlusconi has approved the agreement signed by the Fininvest managing director Pasquale Cannatelli and Mr Bee Taechaubol that plans to negotiate exclusively for a period of eight weeks over a partnership with AC Milan,” read a recent club statement.
Milan are one of the most famous clubs in world football, but they have supremely struggled to compete in the upper regions of Serie A in recent seasons and finished 10th under Filippo Inzaghi last term, after a difficult 2014-15 campaign, which saw the Rossoneri miss out on a European place.
Although, under new management of Sinisa Mihajlovic and a hopeful new owner, Milan will be aiming to immediately return to their glory days domestically and in Europe’s elite club competition, with Alves potentially set to be at the forefront of that prospective revival (3/1 to join PSG).
“I have an offer from an Italian club, and it’s possible that I will go there. I will evaluate the offers that I have received,” stated Alves. “Milan? It would be a pleasure to join them.”
Despite their domestic decline over the previous two seasons, Milan are still a highly-regarded outfit, and under new management could see an instant return to past successes.
Alves’ possible switch to the San Siro from Champions League winners Barcelona could lead the way for many new stars to join a hopeful Milan outfit and, providing they can retain the services of their current crop of talents such as Jermey Menez and Stephan El Shaarawy, a Rossoneri revival is looking encouraging for next season.
