Coral take an alternative look back at the weekend in pictures with a number of events going on across a variety of sports.

Liverpool lay siege to City

The Reds showed true title triumphing potential, as Jurgen Klopp masterminded a 4-1 victory over big-spending heavyweights Manchester City with Liverpool now 22/1 with Coral to win the Premier League. Highlighted above, with Slovakian centre back Martin Skrtel celebrating his stunning strike.

Kane and co cause Hammers capitulation

Tottenham’s Harry Kane returned from England duty along with Dele Alli and Eric Dier and subsequently struck two as Spurs sealed a 4-1 win over London rivals West Ham at White Hart Lane, with Spurs now primed to win their next few Premier League games.

Iniesta inspirational

Andres Iniesta ran the show in El Clasico as Barcelona battered Real Madrid 4-0 at the Bernabeu. His assist for Neymar’s strike was simply outstanding, while his goal, pictured above, was world class.

Canelo class in Cotto clash

Mexico’s Canelo Alvarez beat Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto in the fight for the WBC middleweight title in front of a full-to-capacity Las Vegas venue.

Crolla caps emotional year with World title win

Anthony Crolla was outstanding as he beat Darleys Perez for the World title, and after being accosted by burglars at his house last Christmas, with a blow to the head with a concrete slab, his career was seriously under threat. A remarkable achievement.

Rock on Ruby rules in The Coral Hurdle

Barry Geraghty revels in riding Rock on Ruby, trained by Paul Nicholls to a triumph in The Coral Hurdle at Ascot.

Cue Card plays hand well at Haydock

It was Cue Card, at 5/2 who held all the aces at Haydock in The Betfair Chase, to hold off pre-race favourite Silviniaco Conti after overtaking him in the closing stages.

Djokovic domination in ATP

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic defeats Roger Federer in the ATP tennis final, to claim a record fourth consecutive victory in this event.

Following his win, he highlighted his hunger for more success: “With the wins that I had this season and throughout my career, especially in the last five years, I put myself in a very good position, knowing that I made a lot of records and history,” said Djokovic.

“I’m convinced with this dedication to the sport, I can achieve more. How much, I don’t know. I don’t have a sense of urgency. I don’t chase anything. I just try to be in the moment and see where it takes me.”
