Coral’s weekend in pictures: Hell hath no Fury and Murray magic

Another wonderful weekend of sport has brought moments which only pictures can fully describe, with two British sports men reaping the rewards for their enormous efforts, while there was also reason for celebration in the Premier League.
Too fast, too Fury-ous
British boxer Tyson Fury beat Ukrainian Wladamir Klitschko to win the world heavyweight by a unanimous points decision in Dusseldorf, Germany, on Saturday night, with the judges scoring 115-112, 115-112 and 116-111 in Fury’s favour.
Leicester City’s Vardy hits new highs
It was surely written in the stars. The team that Jamie Vardy would break Ruud van Nistlerooy’s consecutive Premier League scoring record against, would be his former club Manchester United. Although the Foxes, 6/4 with Coral to beat Swansea next time out, could only pick up a point against their visitors, they showed good fight throughout, with Vardy leading the charge.
Davis Cup delight for Team GB
An Andy Murray inspired performance led Team GB to a Davis Cup victory over Belgium to lift the trophy for the first time since 1936 when Fred Perry and Bunny Austin beat Australia. With the score at 2-1 to Team GB on the final day, it needed the 28-year-old to produce against David Goffin and he duly delivered, beating the Belgian in straight sets.
The previous day, he teamed up with his brother Jamie too and the pair swept aside the duo of Goffin and Steve Darcis. Following the triumph, Murray said: “I just can’t believe we did it. I play some of my best tennis when I’m playing for my country.”
Rosberg rally
In the final Formula 1 race of the season, Germany’s Nico Rosberg ended his season on a high with a win in Abu Dhabi, having secured second place in the Championship standings in Sao Paulo. He held off Mercedes teammate, and Championship winner, Lewis Hamilton in second, while Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen finished third with teammate Sebastian Vettel taking fourth from 15th on the grid.
Hennessy hype lives up to expectations
An all-or-nothing performance from jockey Wayne Hutchinson on Smad Place secured a dominant victory in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury. The eight-year-old, trained by Alan King, jumped beautifully throughout.
King said afterwards: “We hoped for a good run but that’s taken my breath away.
“He (Hutchinson) was very brave, but I’m not sure those were the tactics we discussed. He loves to be up there and he deserved to win a big race as he’d been knocking on the door.”
