Bojan blocked from Britannia exit

Batten down the hatches, as clubs across the continent prepare to dig into their trenches to prevent top players leaving this transfer window.

Amid talk of a £10m release clause for Stoke City’s ex-Barcelona boy Bojan Krkic, Potters chairman Peter Coates came out to state of the Spanish schemer: “We’ll be keeping him, he won’t be going anywhere.”

That won’t stop the rumours, however, with Chelsea just one of the sides tipped to get into a scramble for his services, following recent inspiring performances for Mark Hughes’ men.

One slice of transfer gossip that will tickle your fancy this morning, is that Manchester United are expected meet Barca and Brazil superstar Neymar’s mooted £140m release clause, as contract talks with the Catalans seem to have stalled. Though, readers would be forgiven for thinking this means the Samba Boy is likely to sign on the dotted line of a flashy new deal at Camp Nou in a couple of days…

Serie A clubs stalking veteran defenders

Italian sides considering moves for ageing Premier League players? This rumour rings a bell or two, with Liverpool back-up centre half/cheerleader Kolo Toure and Chelsea stalwart Branislav Ivanovic the latest to be tipped to follow in Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic’s shoes.

The defensive-minded duo may extend their top-flight careers in Serie A, with Lazio lurking for Toure and both Milan clubs set to scuffle for Ivanovic.

According to tabloids, struggling Sunderland are honing in on Bayern Munich man Jan Kirchhoff, with a deal believed to be close to completion.
