Coral’s Rumour Reel: Turan puts top-flight clubs on red alert

Arda Turan has set alarming bells ringing among many Premier League clubs, having claimed he would be open to a switch to the top flight.

The Turkey international attacker has two years remaining on his current deal in Spain, and his agent has declared that the La Liga star has intentions of arriving in England. Manchester United are linked with a move for his services, with Turan having also been sought after by French champions PSG.

Meanwhile, Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin will reportedly come to an arrangement with his current club which would allow him to depart St Mary’s Stadium. The France international anchorman is a target of both United and Tottenham, but Arsenal are leading the way for his signature, and are 5/1 with Coral for a title triumph next term.

In the opposite direction, the Saints could make a move for Marseille midfielder Giannelli Umbula as a replacement for their possibly departing star. The 22-year-old has previously been dubbed ‘the new Patrick Vieira’, having impressed for the French Under-21s and in Ligue 1 last term.

For the champions Chelsea, Jose Mourinho may seek a swoop for Augsburg left back Baba Rahman, with the 20-year-old a potentially suitable replacement for Filipe Luis, but the Blues face competition from both Arsenal and Manchester City.

Staying in London, and Arsene Wenger could lose one of his experienced centre backs, as Real Madrid prepare a swoop for Gunners defender Laurent Koscielny, as possible replacement for Sergio Ramos, who is heavily linked with Manchester United.

Newly-appointed Newcastle United head coach Steve McClaren is hoping for swift reinforcements this summer ahead of his returning season in the top-flight with the Magpies. The former Middlesbrough boss is considering a move for his former Derby County defender Richard Keogh, but will have to rival Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion for his services.

Meanwhile, Leicester City have made a £7m bid for sought-after Stoke City midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, after Europa League champions Sevilla saw their £3m offer rejected. The Foxes survived the drop last term, but are 9/2 to face relegation next season.
