Coral’s Rumour Reel: Tottenham target English partner for Kane?
Published:Tottenham are targeting the signature of QPR frontman Charlie Austin this summer, as they seek a prolific strike partner for current star man Harry Kane this season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs are 6/1 with Coral to secure a top four spot this campaign, but will aim to sign England international Austin before the transfer window slams shut. Kane is set to carry the goalscoring burden again this term, but Austin would undoubtedly ease that load for the Londoners.
Although, Austin could possibly be a replacement for in-form Kane, with Manchester United believed to have revived interest in the rampant striker, ahead of the two club’s season opener at Old Trafford.
The White Hart Lane are also reportedly hoping to land 20-year-old Colombian wideman Jeison Lucumi, potentially beating PSV and Atletico Madrid to his services. The talented attacker is currently plying his trade in the Colombian second division with America de Cali.
Louis van Gaal will soon see the back of Angel Di Maria, with the Argentine attacker set to be unveiled as a PSG player, after agreeing a reported £44m deal.
Another United departure could be striker Javier Hernandez, who has been offered a way out of Old Trafford by an unknown MLS club, with the unnamed franchise reportedly offering the Mexican marksman a $10m deal, giving him 24 hours to decide.
Meanwhile, in the capital, Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Augsburg left back Baba Rahman, with both clubs having agreed a fee for the 21-year-old. Jose Mourinho’s Blues are 7/4 to retain their domestic crown this term.
Liverpool will soon see out-of-favour forward Fabio Borini depart for Fiorentina, with the 24-year-old having fell well and truly down the pecking order after a summer spending spree by Brendan Rodgers.
Colombia’s recently sought-after attacking midfielder Juan Fernando Quintero is now been outlined as a target by Premier League newcomers Norwich City. The talented Porto playmaker has been previously linked with a host of top European clubs, but the Canaries are now hoping to lure the 22-year-old to Carrow Road.
