Coral’s Rumour Reel: Toffees targeting Celtic’s Dutch defender?

Published:

Roberto Martinez is hoping to bolster his Everton defence this summer and is willing to pay up to £10m for the services of Celtic’s talented Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk. The Hoops centre back impressed last season in the Scottish Premiership and should slot in well with the Toffees (11/4 with Coral for a top six finish).

Elsewhere, Premier League champions Chelsea are ready to offload stuttering winger Juan Cuadrado, and could sell the former Fiorentina winger for £26m, £5m less than they paid for the Colombia international.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are reportedly set to miss out on their Bundesliga target Adrian Ramos, with Borussia Dortmund ready to reject the Eagles’ attempts at signing the 29-year-old. Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion are also said to be interested.

Alan Pardew’s men are also interested in Hull City defender James Chester, with many top-flight clubs also aiming to land the centre back, after the Tigers were relegated last term.

Arsenal and Liverpool are currently battling it out for the signature of Juventus’ young wing wizard Kingsley Coman, with German champions Bayern Munich also interested in the promising Turin wideman’s services.

Manchester United have enjoyed a successful pre-season campaign so far, but could soon see the arrival of the ‘superstar’ that manager Louis van Gaal recently claimed the club needed. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has refused to rule out a move to Old Trafford, with the 33-year-old PSG striker potentially set to depart France this summer.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will make an improved offer for Everton defender John Stones soon, as he tries to lure the England international centre back to Stamford Bridge, possibly as the long-term replacement for veteran John Terry.

And finally, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to increase his efforts to capture Real Madrid frontman Karim Benzema this summer, having reportedly had a £31m bid rejected by the Spanish giants. Los Blancos are 13/8 to reclaim the La Liga title under Rafa Bentiez in his maiden campaign at the Bernabeu.
