Potters pounce for Berahino
Saido Berahino has endured a miserable time with West Bromwich Albion since trying to force through a move to Tottenham last summer, but Stoke City are reportedly ready to end his torment as they seek attacking reinforcements.
Mark Hughes’ Potters are monitoring the former England Under-21 international striker’s current situation at The Hawthorns and are ready to swoop for his signature soon, with the out-of-favour frontman seemingly set to depart the West Midlands.
Tony Pulis seems unlikely to utilise frontman Berahino much further this season, as the player also seeks a switch to revive a career which looked promising but has recently unravelled.
Such a move would benefit all three parties, with Stoke seeking a forward boost, Pulis wanting to raise funds for his squad and remove a seemingly problematic figure, while Berahino seeks to kickstart his Premier League form.
Can Kane be Zidane’s first Galactico?
With Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane having taken charge of the Spanish giants following Rafa Benitez’s earlier dismissal, the club icon could look to Spurs’ Harry Kane as his first major signing and first Galactico.
The England international sharpshooter, at just 22 years of age, is believed to be seen by Zidane as the catalyst for a new era at the Bernabeu. With Cristiano Ronaldo’s career in the Spanish capital at a crossroads, new recruits are being lined-up and Kane is potentially a high-profile future acquisition.
As well as seeking Kane’s services, Los Blancos are still keeping a close eye on Chelsea and Belgium international attacker Eden Hazard, although the player is waiting to see who takes charge at Stamford Bridge permanently before deciding on his future.
Manchester United are also shock possible suitors for the Belgian, with Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils supposedly set to offer up to £65m for his signature, after finally giving up hope on Welsh wizard Gareth Bale.
Everton make Marshall move
Elsewhere, on the blue half of Merseyside, Roberto Martinez’s Everton are planning a swoop for Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall, with the Championship shot stopper valued at around a substantial £10m by his Welsh employers.
The 30-year-old Scotland stopper costs the Bluebirds just £800k back in January 2009 but the Toffees have seen a mammoth price-tag slapped on their January transfer target. Marshall has made 258 appearances for the Championship outfit and the former Celtic goal guard is under contract at his current club until 2018, meaning Cardiff are in a strong position for bargaining.
