Former Baggie Valero on way back to Premier League?

While another midfielder aged 30 or over is probably not on the Christmas wishlist of Manchester United fans, reports in the foreign press link Louis van Gaal with a move for former West Bromwich Albion anchorman Borja Valero.

Coral rate the Red Devils 11/2 Premier League title chances with rumours this deep-lying playmaker could be on his way back to English football from Fiorentina.

Viola vice-captain Valero has plenty of pedigree, having come through Real Madrid’s academy, and his excellent form after leaving The Hawthorns for Villarreal saw him earn a sole Spain cap in 2011.

Man Utd also embroiled in Embolo battle

Basel’s Swiss international striker Breel Embolo is another name linked to Old Trafford in dispatches, with the Cameroon-born youngster making a big splash.

Receiving a Switzerland passport in December 2014, teenage talent Embolo has been capped seven times by his adopted homeland already. Adding another pacy threat to the United attack may give extra urgency ad impetus to their play.

Embolo would have to strike up a partnership with summer signing Anthony Martial, whose direct style has made for a refreshing return to the Red Devils approach of old when they were regular Premier League title winners.

If Man Utd want to sign the Swiss sensation, then they will have to beat reported competition from Barcelona and Champions League group opponents Wolfsburg, who have Embolo’s international teammates Timm Klose and Ricardo Rodriguez on their books.

Kramaric could quit King Power for Serie A switch

Every other Leicester City striker seems to be in the shadow of Premier League record breaker Jamie Vardy, and chief among those is Croatia international frontman Andrej Kramaric.

His spell with the Foxes has been less than inspiring and, although hindsight is a wonderful thing, Kramaric could now rue reportedly snubbing Chelsea for the East Midlands outfit.

Italian heavyweight trio AC Milan, Inter and Juventus are willing offer him an escape route from England, however, where Blazers colleague Nikola Kalinic has taken Serie A by storm.

Like Kramaric, Kalinic flopped in the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers, yet a slower pace and style of football has suited the centre forward at Fiorentina.

Remaining with 15/2 top four chances Leicester is likely to jeopardise Kramaric’s bid to lay for Croatia at Euro 2016, so a winter window move could definitely be on the cards.
