Coral’s Rumour Reel: PSG close on Di Maria & Sissoko in demand

Published:

Various reports this morning are circulating that Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria has agreed a move to French champions PSG, with the fee said to be in the region of £46.5m, almost £15m less than the Red Devils paid for the 27-year-old last summer.

The Argentine attacker who didn’t join up with the squad for the International Champions Cup game over Barcelona, has had concerns about staying at Old Trafford since an attempted burglary on his Cheshire residence earlier in the year.

Meanwhile, the club have been quick to reject attempts from both Inter Milan and Newcastle United to sign midfielder Michael Carrick, with the England international still very much part of manager Louis van Gaal’s plans.

The Tyneside outfit, 11/4 with Coral for a top 10 finish next term, could have more luck though, signing Uruguayan striker Diego Rolan from Bordeaux after they contacted the French club about his availability.

In other news, Tottenham’s race for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino could finally be over, after unconfirmed reports that they have tabled a £15m bid for the 21-year-old in anticipation of him moving to White Hart Lane in the next 48 hours.

Staying with Spurs, it has emerged that they have not made an offer for Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko, however, this could open the door for Liverpool who may attempt to snare the much sought-after Frenchman.

After an encouraging summer of spending, Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew looks set to continue building his squad, and he could return to his old club Newcastle for his former captain Fabricio Coloccini, who would no doubt add vital experience to the Eagles rearguard.

Manchester City could finally be set to offload strikers Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic, after putting them up for sale and may replace them with Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain, however, Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking insists that there have been no bids for blockbuster Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, with City said to be interested.
