Coral’s rumour reel features a number of managers on the move, plus a prospective takeover, while usual suspects from the summer are being linked to clubs once again.

Managerial madness

Before the week is out, three managers could be hired at Championship clubs. Steve Clarke, is the main man in the frame to take over at Fulham, 33/1 to be promoted with Coral, with talks said to be nearing completion.

Having started his coaching career at Newcastle United, before moving to Chelsea under Jose Mourinho, he had stints at Liverpool and West Ham United before taking the manager’s post at West Bromwich Albion and then Reading, guiding the Royals to an FA Cup semi-final last season.

The Berkshire club are looking to replace him with former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson, who kept the Foxes in the Premier League last term and won the Championship with them the season before.

Meanwhile, should lifelong Leeds United fan and multi-millionaire, Steve Parkin complete his takeover of the West Yorkshire club, he is keen to bring recently dismissed Real Sociedad manager, David Moyes in as manager, with the Scot refusing to rule out a move to the Championship.

Baggies to bag a brace

West Brom are reportedly tracking two players in January with QPR duo Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips earmarked as replacements if Saido Berahino leaves the club. Spurs, who had three bids turned down for him in the summer are said to remain interested, while Newcastle and Chelsea are understood to have thrown their hat into the ring for him.

The Blues are also believed to be worried about having another offer for Everton centre back John Stones turned down, following three rejected bids for the 21-year-old in January, who has featured for England this season and looks settled at the Toffees. He is also, reportedly, attracting interest from Champions League winners Barcelona.
