Coral’s Rumour Reel: Man Utd to target to Atletico Madrid marksman?

With Louis van Gaal having guided Manchester United to a top four finish this season in the Premier League, the Dutch boss will reportedly be given another warchest to spend this summer to bolster his squad ahead of a return to the Champions League.

A host of top names have been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, and Atletico Madrid marksman Mario Mandzukic is the latest striker to be tipped for a big money move to the red half of Manchester (5/1 with Coral to win 2015/16 PL). The Croatian only joined the La Liga side form Bayern Munich for £18.5m last summer, but his impressive goalscoring performances in Spain seem to have caught Van Gaal’s eye.

Atletico could seek to replace their possibly departing sharpshooter with an Argentine attacker, as Carlos Tevez and Luciano Vietto are both possible arrivals to the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

With a Dutchman at the United helm, the Red Devils have seen many Netherlands internationals linked as well, with PSG’s Gregory van der Wiel a reported target to take up the right back position, after Barcelona retained the services of Dani Alves.

If that fails, Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne is a significant signing which could boost the full back position at the club. The 24-year-old England international has impressed this season for the Saints under Ronald Koeman and could be the latest high-profile star to depart St Mary’s Stadium.

Just a stone’s throw away, Manchester City have held talks with former Chelsea playmaker Kevin De Bruyne over a potential move, but the Belgian stated that the Sky Blues will have to speak with his current club Wolfsburg and not him.

Alan Pardew worked wonders with Crystal Palace this term, after arriving from Newcastle United midway through the campaign, and he could make a move for his former Tyneside playmaker Yohan Cabaye, who is considering a switch back to England after a lacklustre spell at PSG.

Newly appointed West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has only been in the Upton Park job for no more than 24 hours, but is reportedly set to be handed plenty of funds to bolster his inherited Hammers squad. Spanish midfielder Pedro Obiang could be an imminent arrival, while Chelsea striker Loic Remy and Barcelona’s promising playmaker Alen Halilovic are both targets.

At Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino will look to upgrade his strike force this summer with a swoop for Stuttgart striker Timo Werner, with the 19-year-old a potentially potent partner for Harry Kane next season. Spurs are 5/1 to clinch a top four finish next term, with a possible new striker to rely on.
