Coral’s Rumour Reel: Man Utd seek swap deal for Madrid defender

Manchester United have been tipped to lose their number one stopper David de Gea since earlier in the year, and they could now throw a spanner in the works regarding a deal with Real Madrid.

The Red Devils are seemingly likely to lose their superb goal guard De Gea, with Spanish giants Madrid increasing their interest in the potential long-term replacement for Iker Casillas. However, Louis van Gaal will reportedly push to have Sergio Ramos included in such a deal, with the Old Trafford backline in need of revamping for next term (5/1 with Coral to win 2015/16 PL).

On the red half of Merseyside, Liverpool are aiming to bolster their midfield ranks after the departure of stalwart skipper Steven Gerrard, and an offer for Asier Illarramendi could be made. The Reds are set to bid £16m for the 25-year-old, with Real reportedly happy to accept £16m.

In London, West Ham United are hopeful of securing the signing of Mousa Dembele from fellow capital club Tottenham. The 27-year-old has also attracted interest from champions Chelsea, with the Belgium international ready to depart White Hart Lane.

The Hammers are also confident of landing Marseille marksman Diimitri Payet for £14m, with their improved offer looking likely of luring the 28-year-old to Upton Park.

Another Spurs star Andros Townsend is emerging as a possible target for Tyne and Wear rivals Newcastle United and Sunderland, with the England international wideman potentially a huge boost to there Northeast neighbours’ respective attacks.

Atletico Madrid centre back Toby Alderweireld enjoyed a successful loan spell at St Mary’s last season, and Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is ready to break the club’s transfer record of £15m in order to land the talented Belgium defender permanently this summer.

Meanwhile, the Crystal Palace board are prepared to block Alan Pardew’s move for QPR striker Charlie Austin, with the club’s hierarchy unwilling to splash out the £15m needed to land the in-form forward.

Newly-promoted Bournemouth have already agreed several new additions ahead of their maiden Premier League campaign, but they have been dealt a blow in their attempts to acquire Everton left back Luke Garbutt, with the 22-year-old set to sign a new five-year contract at Goodison Park.

As well as this, both the Cherries and fellow top-flight newcomers Watford are tracking Olympiakos midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim, with the talented 24-year-old high on their list of priorities. Eddie Howe’s men are 5/4 to face an immediate return to the Championship next season.
