Coral’s rumour reel: Liverpool looking to loan Barca starlet

Published:

First up this morning, Liverpool (9/4 with Coral for a top four finish) are reportedly still seeking to add attacking quality to their roster, with the Reds believed to have been in discussions with Barcelona over a loan move for 19-year-old winger Adama Traore.

The talented youngster is apparently keen to gain further first team experience, and Merseyside rivals Everton have also been linked with an interest.

Speaking of the Toffees, prize defender John Stones is now expected to be at the centre of an expensive transfer tussle, as Manchester United are now apparently prepared to go all in and offer Jonny Evans in part-exchange, in an attempt to beat rivals Chelsea and Manchester City to his signature.

As for outgoings at Old Trafford, Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino has rebuffed rumours that Mexico marksman Javier Hernandez is set to arrive at White Hart Lane.

The Spurs boss told press “those are rumours and nothing more. There is nothing concrete. He is a Manchester United player and logically a lot of names are getting suggested for Tottenham and Javier is just one more.”

From one Aztecs attacker to another, then, West Ham United could be close to capturing Atletico Madrid forward Raul Jimenez, but may have to fork out up to £10m for the frontman if they cannot arrange a season-long loan.

Staying in London, Crystal Palace continue to be busy in the transfer market, with Sunderland striker Connor Wickham expected to sign on the dotted line at Selhurst Park imminently. Alan Pardew may also throw his hat into the ring for out-of-favour Inter Milan winger Xherdan Shaqiri, with Everton also eyeing the Switzerland star.

Arsenal, meanwhile, could end up making a pretty penny for Costa Rica cult hero Joel Campbell, with Palermo, Real Sociedad and Trabzonspor all set to tussle for the speedster’s services, though the Gunners’ £7m asking price could put suitors off.

Aston Villa (3/1 for relegation) are also grabbing headlines as they continue to spend their Christian Benteke spoils, with Blackburn Rovers goal machine Rudy Gestede and 22-year-old Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout expected to be the next Villa Park arrivals.

Finally, Celtic sharpshooter Anthony Stokes could be on his way out of Parkhead with Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan Athletic all mooted destinations for the dangerman.
