Reds move for Mexico marksman to upset rivals

Jurgen Klopp could well be set to ruffle a few feathers in his pursuit of Premier League success, with the Liverpool coach rumoured in morning press to be considering a swoop for former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.

The Mexico international was infamously offloaded by Louis van Gaal in summer, only to go on and grab 19 goals in 23 games for new club Bayer Leverkusen. Will lethal Chicharito return to haunt the Red Devils by crossing the bitter Northwest divide?

Meanwhile, staying at Anfield, Klopp is also attributed with an interest in plucking Poland midfield prodigy Piotr Zielinski from Serie A side Udinese. Breakfast gossip suggests the Reds will make an £11m move to add the highly-rated talent to their ranks.

Chelsea hogging headlines

Not to be outdone, usual big-spenders the Blues are also on the back pages, with the latest name out of the new Chelsea boss hat Italy tactician Antonio Conte. Yet, the board have also been dealt a managerial blow, as Bournemouth bigwig Matt Hulsizer said apparent target and current Cherries coach Eddie Howe is “not going anywhere.”

While, it could be a case of one defender in the door and one out, as Roma are tipped to land England centre half Gary Cahill, with the Stamford Bridge backline commander supposedly worried about his Euro 2016 spot, and set to be shipped out.

Arriving at Heathrow and destined for west London, however, is New York Red Bulls man Matt Miazga, with the defender reportedly to undergo a medical. Though, alternative media outlets have Valencia star Aymen Abdennour as the rearguard enforcer Chelsea are chasing. Does this mean John Stones is set to stay at Everton for the forseeable?

Man Utd to make waves

The shoe could well be on the other foot at Stamford Bridge, however, as Man Utd are rumoured to be ready to sneak in and steal 16-year-old Portugese midfielder Domingos Quina from under the Premier League champions’ noses.

And, while high-fliers Leicester City have been linked with snapping up CSKA Moscow’s 23-year-old striker Ahmed Musa, the Red Devils are also said to be jostling for the Nigerian’s signature.

Arsenal close to deal for duo

Speaking of the Foxes, title rivals Arsenal have apparently been given short shrift once again in their attempts to court Leicester’s teenage defender Ben Chilwell.

The Gunners may have better luck, however, with Nigerian duo Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze, with the Diamond Football Academy starlets primed to ink deals imminently.
