Coral’s Prem punts: City amongst the goals and Reds to edge Clarets
Published:Citizens to continue goalscoring form
There are seven Premier League games to get stuck into on Saturday afternoon, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham all in action.
Ahead of another round of scintillating top-flight football, the Coral News Team have gone through the games to pick out a quartet of tasty tips.
City to edge Watford goalfest
It’s fair to say Manchester City are prolific in front of goal. They hit Liverpool for five last weekend and followed that up with a 4-0 thrashing of Feyenoord in midweek.
Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus have already scored five between them this season and will be hoping to replicate City’s 5-0 win at Vicarage Road last season.
Watford like a goal themselves. The Hornets scored three against Liverpool on the opening day, while last weekend’s victory over Southampton took them to fourth in the table. Marco Silva has put together a good side in Hertfordshire, but City look as though they’ll have too much quality for the hosts.
Eriksen to get on the scoresheet v Swans
Tottenham are back in form following back-to-back wins against Everton and Borussia Dortmund. They netted three in both matches and will be eager to continue that run against a low-on-confidence Swansea side.
Spurs have not lost in 12 Premier League fixtures against the Swans. But it’s Christian Eriksen’s record against the South Wales club that is even more impressive. The Dane has netted three in his last two against Swansea and six in as many of his previous appearances against the Welsh side.
Reds to scrape past the Clarets
Liverpool’s quality is not in question. But Jurgen Klopp has found it difficult against the so-called “smaller sides”, since arriving at Anfield. The Reds failed to win in nine of their 20 fixtures against teams that finished in the bottom half last season. And that included a 2-0 defeat away at Saturday’s opponents Burnley.
The Merseysiders always look dangerous going forward. But Sean Dyche has Burnley well drilled. They’ve beaten Chelsea and held Tottenham already this season. Plus, three of their four games so far have seen two goals or under.
Baggies can return to winning ways
They were handed a shock first defeat of the season last week at Brighton & Hove Albion. But the Coral News Team are backing West Brom to get three points on the board against West Ham. The Hammers were far from inspiring against Huddersfield on Monday night and will find it difficult at the Hawthorns.
Slaven Bilic’s men lost 4-2 on their last visit to this part of the Midlands. And with the Baggies unbeaten at home so far this term, West Ham could find it difficult against a resolute home defence.
Top Tip: West Brom to win @ 27/10
