General Boxing Rules
– When the bell goes, the fight is officially on. All bets will be settled according to the official result announced by the official governing body after the end of the fight. Any changes to the result will not be taken into account for settlement purposes.
– If a contest is postponed and rescheduled within 48 hours of the original start time, your bet will stand unless you choose to personally cancel it instead. If the contest does not take place within 48 hours your bet will be void.
– If one of the contestants is substituted after you have placed your bet, bets on the original bout will be void.
– Failure to come out for a round – If a boxer fails to come out for the next round, bets will be settled on his opponent having won the bout in the previous round.
– Scheduled number of rounds changed – All outright bets on the match will stand. However round by round bets will be void.
– If a fight is called off before the full number of rounds have been completed, or if a boxer is disqualified and a points decision is given, bets will be settled on the round in which the fight finished.
– Draw or technical draw – Draw is scorecard draw. Technical draw is if the referee stops the fight before the required number of rounds has been completed for the fight to be decided on the judges scorecards (otherwise known as a technical decision).
– KO or TKO – Knockout (KO) is awarded when the boxer fails to meet a standing 10 count. Technical knockout (TKO) is the 3 knockdown rule or if the referee steps in.
– Decision or technical decision – Decision is on scorecard points between the judges. Technical decision is when the fight can’t continue for any reason other than a KO/TKO or Disqualification, but the required number of rounds have been fought for the fight to go to the scorecards.
How do Boxing odds work?
The main boxing market focuses on which fighter will win in a particular fight. Odds are offered on the likelihood of both fighters winning, regardless of their method of victory.
A draw between two fighters is the most unlikely outcome of all three because it relies on both fighters completing 12 rounds and all of the judges scoring the bout as a level contest. This is reflected in the odds of 33/1, with a draw priced far greater than the two other outcomes.
Boxing betting strategies
Betting on the outcome of a fight is not the only way that you can bet on boxing. Coral offer plenty of other markets that enable you to bet on major fights.
- Knockout (KO): This is one of the most popular boxing bets. It’s where one boxer knocks the other one down and he fails to beat the referee’s standing count of 10.
- Technical knockout (TKO): This is where the referee feels a boxer cannot continue and steps in to stop the fight.
- Decision or technical decision (D): When all rounds are completed and judges must decide on a verdict by points. Technical decision is when the fight can’t continue for any reason other than a KO/TKO or Disqualification, but the required number of rounds have been fought to then be decided on points.
- Round betting: This is also a popular market when one fighter is an overwhelming favourite. You can bet on when you think which round a boxer will win in.
How to place boxing bets on Coral

From there, you’ll see all confirmed bouts that are available to bet on for the coming days and weeks. Odds will also be available for any major boxing fights in the coming months.
If you want to bet on the outcome of a fight, first you have to find the bout. All fights that are available to bet on are to be found in list format, with odds attached that allow you to bet on the home fighter, the away fighter or the draw. Simply click on your selection and your choice will be added to your bet slip.
If you want to bet on something more specific – round betting, method of victory or total rounds – just click on the bout. This will then take you to a new page.
From here, you can look at all other available markets for the fight, following the same procedure of clicking on your chosen bet which will then add it to your bet slip. Your bet slip will then appear, either on PC or via the app, where you can put in your stake, confirm your selection and place your bet.
