Coral Rumour Reel: Bid made for Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling

Starting in the north west, with Coral’s Rumour Reel, and Raheem Sterling has once again been linked with a move out of the club, with Manchester City reportedly making a bid of £30m for the player, while Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid are also said to be monitoring the situation. The Reds, 5/2 with Coral to finish in the Premier League’s top four next term, though, insist he’s not for sale.

They themselves could enter the market to bid for Burnley full back Keiran Trippier after having a £10m offer rejected for Nathaniel Clyne. However, the club are certain to sign goalkeeper Adam Bogdan with the player out of contract at Bolton next month.

Moving east and Man Utd and Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema’s representatives have reportedly held talks with United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, over a potential move. Meanwhile, Dutchman Robin van Persie could be set to leave the club, making a £10m switch to Serie A side Lazio.

Heading south, and Arsenal have bid £29.4m for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, although the Italian outfit are holding out for a fee of around €40m, while the Gunners have also made a £18.2m bid for Monaco’s 22-year-old midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, who is also attracting the interest of Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea.

Speaking of which, it appears the Blues are now willing to let goalkeeper, Petr Cech leave for a Premier League club, putting Arsenal and Man Utd on alert, while former on-loan centre forward Radamel Falcao has more or less issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to Chelsea after admitting that he wants to stay in the Premier League.

Southampton, though, appear to be leading the race to sign QPR striker, Charlie Austin, who was thought to be heading to Newcastle. Any fee would likely be in the region of £10m, though the player is keeping his feet on the ground.

“I just want to concentrate on the next two weeks, enjoy the moment and what will be will be,” Austin said.

“Who knows what the future will hold for me? I feel like I’ve worked hard enough this season for QPR to try to be a Premier League player but, at the moment, I’ve still got a year left at QPR.
