Coral are proud to announce that we are now officially sponsoring undefeated WBO international super bantamweight title holder Gavin McDonnell, with the 29-year-old joining his twin brother and WBA world bantamweight champion Jamie on our exciting team.

“We are absolutely delighted to be on board with Gavin in what is going to be an exciting 12 months in his career. It would be no surprise to see him follow in his brother’s footsteps by becoming a world champion in the near future,” stated Coral PR manager, John Hill.

Having made his burst onto the professional scene in 2010 with a victory over Bulgarian Plamen Kostadinov, Gavin has rampantly come through 15 of his career bouts undefeated, securing 13 wins and two draws, with four victories coming by knockout.

Only last year, this exciting Doncaster-born fighter took his talents up a level, lifting the vacant British super bantamweight title with a sixth-round stoppage of Leigh Wood, before retaining that crown only three months later against Josh Wale.

Towards the end of 2014 and the beginning of this calendar year, Gavin has excelled in the ring, securing both the WBO intercontinental super bantamweight and EBU super bantamweight titles, with points decision triumphs over Vusi Malinga and Alexander Egorov respectively.

In his sublime win over South African Malinga last October, Gavin dominated the bout from start to finish, sending his opponent crashing to the canvas in the eighth round with a stunning right hand, ultimately earning him a unanimous decision.

Coral have also been in agreement with Gavin’s twin brother Jamie for some time now, and he too is enjoying a successful career in the ring. He is currently preparing for his upcoming rematch with Tomoki Kameda, having dispatched the Japanese fighter earlier this year over 12 rounds on his American debut in Texas.

We are extremely proud to have Gavin become part of our growing team, and look forward to seeing him extend his so far successful career during an exciting time for British boxing.
