Three British sides in action on Tuesday

The Champions League returns this week with some mouth-watering ties from across the continent.

Tottenham Hotspur go to Real Madrid, Manchester City host Napoli and Liverpool head to Slovenia to take on Maribor in Tuesday night’s action.

As the competition continues apace, the Coral News Team look at the big stories from the first batch of games in matchweek three…

Kane at the Bernabeu

Can Harry Kane score against one of the best sides in Europe?

Well, if his record since the beginning of September is anything to go by, he has every chance. The England ace has bagged 15 goals in the last month and a half, including nine in his last four away games for Spurs.

Real Madrid are a different proposition, though. If the 24-year-old can do it against Los Blancos at the Bernabeu, then any remaining critics will be silenced. He’s 13/10 to score anytime.

Man City’s first test in Europe

Manchester City have been steamrolling sides at home and in Europe this season. They have won their last nine in all competitions and saw off Stoke City 7-2 at the weekend.

The visit of Napoli should provide Pep Guardiola with his first real test in Europe. They’re 6/10 to pick up another home win, although a City win and Both Teams to Score makes more appeal at 7/5.

Liverpool need to win

Liverpool have been going through a sticky patch of form recently. Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have won just one from eight and remain without a victory in the Champions League group stages so far this season.

A trip to Maribor should provide the perfect tonic for the Merseysiders. They have the attacking quality to be able to kick-start their season in Slovenia. Coral are backing talisman Philippe Coutinho to score first at 4/1. Liverpool to win and both teams to score is also tempting at 23/10.
