Coral Fearing A Matsuyama Masters win at Augusta

Published:

Hideki Matsuyama has been extremely popular this morning with leading bookmaker Coral to win the US Masters where he is available at 20-1 heading into the start of the Major Championship tomorrow. The Japanese golfer is now the firm’s biggest liability ahead of Rickie Fowler (20-1), Lee Westwood (66-1), Rory McIlroy (8-1) and Jon Rahm (20-1) respectively.

Dustin Johnson tops the betting at 6-1 and Coral can report they have taken their fair share of bets on the world number one who would be a considerable loser for the firm this week.

“Matsuyama has played really well at the Masters over the last couple of years and if he wins this weekend, we will be licking our wounds deep into Sunday evening,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“We’ve taken our fair share of bets on Dustin Johnson so he is definitely a player we won’t be cheering. Jordan Spieth and Jason Day, on the other hand, are two players in the top five of betting that we have on our side at this stage,” added Hill.
