Fish’O’Mania was founded by famous sporting promoter Barry Hearn in 1994, who has also worked wonders with boxing, darts and snooker. The final takes places for an eighth consecutive year at Cudworth Fisheries, as anglers descend on Whitmore, Staffordshire between Stoke and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Now an international smash hit, there are men’s, women’s and juniors events across this weekend (July 18th and 19th). Regional qualifiers were played, allowing 16 of the best anglers in these respective categories to book their spot at the finals.
Anglers will have their catches weighed every 30 minutes throughout five-hour matches, and those with highest aggregate in the above categories will be declared winners.
