Copa America Group C: Brazil & Venezuela seek second wins

Published:

The Copa America is well underway with every team having played nearly two games each. Coral preview what are sure to be two terrific games in Group C.

Brazil v Colombia
When the groups were drawn, this was arguably one of the games of the tournament, however, Colombia’s shock defeat at the hands of Venezuela in the first match, leaves them in an undesirable position and they need a draw at the very least against Brazil.

Jose Pekerman’s side are 13/5 for victory while the draw is offered at 23/10, though Brazil are clear favourite’s at 21/20 after their win over Peru.

Neymar and Douglas Costa who both scored are 3/1 and 6/1 respectively to break the deadlock, while for the former to net and Brazil to win, odds of 11/4 are available.

This match could also represent a chance for attacker Roberto Firmino to show what he can do, with top teams around Europe said to be interested, and his odds of 5/1 to open the scoring are worth a punt, after he struck against Chile earlier this season.

James Rodriguez who lit up the World Cup last summer, taking the Golden Boot award with six goals, will be looking to build on that, and for him to score and his team to win Coral are offering 10/1 odds.

Peru v Venezuela
Striker Jose Rondon was the man of the moment as Venezuela defeated Colombia last time out, and the Zenit St Petersburg player is 7/4 in the anytime market or 6/1 to break the deadlock.

For Venezuela to make it two wins from two, they are 15/8 and such a result would almost guarantee them progression from Group C while also sealing Peru’s fate; exit from the competition.

Peru, meanwhile, are 7/5 to win and boast a number of players who ply their trade in some of Europe’s top leagues. Bayern Munich veteran Claudio Pizarro is 7/4 to strike anytime, while Jefferson Farfan is available at a 2/1 price in the same market.
